My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Lucinda Martin during our December 2010 wedding in San Francisco. I came across Lucinda's website while browsing an online wedding website looking for local vendors (I live in Los Angeles). She received several shining recommendations from previous couples and her website provided me with excellent background on her credentials and services.

After talking with Lucinda over the phone, I knew that I had found the perfect individual to perform my ceremony. She was very detailed oriented (which helped calm down my OCD side) and she touched upon details that I hadn't even thought of. With her guidance we were able to come up with the perfect ceremony that fit my vision.

The day of my wedding, Lucinda made sure to arrive early as California traffic is highly unpredictable. She had everything in place before my husband and I even arrived. After the ceremony, I received several comments on how touching the ceremony was. Lucinda even handled the filing of my marriage license (thank you Lucinda).

Lucinda,

I know Stacey shared how much we appreciated your guidance and services while we were in San Francisco for our anniversary, but I wanted to make sure you had something from the both of us.  Sort of a "guys perspective" that might help sway some borderline couples.  To be honest, when she first brought up the idea, my mentality was "...we just got married 5 years ago, and as far as I know, we're still committed... aren't we?!"  I went along with it because it was something that Stacey really wanted to do, but we both appreciated the experience and the opportunity to let everything else go, and just have those few minutes to adjust our focus back on to what matters most, and why we made the original commitment to each other.

After meeting you and being able to have you as our re-Commitment Ceremony Officiant, we were both very happy and felt almost that same euphoric state that most couples enjoy on their Honeymoons.  Stacey and I thoroughly appreciated the level of genuine interest you showed, your personal touches tailored for us as a couple, and enjoyed meeting you.  Our ceremony was informal and personal, and in a perfect setting.  Really helped to set the mood for rest and relaxation.

We hope that you are doing well and that things continue to go well for you.  Next time we're in the area, we'll all have to get together again. Thank you again!

My wife and I were very lucky in choosing Lucinda to perform our interfaith wedding. Myself, being Christian, and my wife, being Jewish, wanted to incorporate both traditions in our ceremony.

Lucinda was very helpful in creating a ceremony that was quite beautiful and one which will remain in our hearts for a very long time. Lucinda was very professional, yet it also felt that I was asking a friend to do our ceremony, because she made me feel comfortable. Reverend Lucinda Martin officiated my daughter and son inlaws wedding ( Kimberly and Daryl) at the beautiful chapel in the San Francisco Presidio She brought the Christian reverence we were seeking in the wedding ceremony while also providing a comfortable, inviting environment. Rev. Martin  is exudes a sense of warmth and true compassion for uniting the bride and groom and the families.  As the mother of the bride I was involved in so many details that it was a pleasure to have found Rev. Martin who totally provided the reassurance that I needed. I know I will be calling Rev. Martin again when my other daughter decides to tie the knot.

Dearest Lucinda,

I cannot begin to thank you enough for all that you did for us as a couple-- not just on our wedding day, but all of the days, weeks and months ahead of our special day.  Our ceremony was a blessed event, and without your words of wisdom, advice, and guidance, we know that it would just not have been the same.

It was also IMPERATIVE that our children and family members be included in our ceremony-- as they are just as much a part of who we are today, and we recognized that we were not marrying just each other, but also our families.  The ceremony of the Celtic knot, so that our children, my parents, and his sisters could all contribute was so very special and meaningful to all of us. Our Celtic knot is proudly displayed on our bookshelves as a symbol of our love, our commitments, our pledges, and our family.

Your presence, your creating a sacred space, your patience when things went awry, your laughter at the Blue Angels flying over, and the energy that radiates from you was truly touching.  In a world so very much divided by hate, ignorance, intolerance, and negativity-- you helped us all to feel nothing but love and acceptance for that special moment in time. We will all carry shards of those positive feelings with us every October 10, and every time we see the pictures.

Thank you for being not only our Officiant, but also a part of our special day, and hopefully a friend for life.

Dear Lucinda,

Our wedding could not have been more seamless.  We wanted to express our appreciation in your ability to bring a warm, sincere and elegant approach to our wedding.  The union of  our family was highlighted with the symbolic sand ceremony.  Our individual colors illustrates the strengths we each bring to our new family but we also recognize that our faults as members of a new family can be dissolved  just as each grain is poured into the whole.  Having our commitment expressed in such a poetic, artistic way is something we see everyday and reminds us that our lives are no longer separate.

There are many things we can thank you for. First off, we want to thank you for being so flexible and being a part of our ceremony, that is, being so responsible and so well prepared when we were all over the place, from day one to the special day! There really wouldn’t have been a better choice, as we were looking for someone we could feel completely open and comfortable with. We really felt as if you were a shoulder to lean on through the process. Of course, we have to mention that your pre-marital sessions were extremely beneficial to our relationship.  We appreciate the hard work and time you put into creating a beautiful ceremony with us. You’re a real genius! Again, we acknowledge your well preparedness and loved the fact that we were getting married with an original ceremony that reflected our “love story” and as for the personalized rituals, they really make your heart skip a beat. Another thing we must put out there is the fact that you went out of your way to learn some Spanish phrases, and even though you may not be a fluent Spanish speaker, we honestly couldn’t have asked for more! We thought you sounded great when you translated the welcoming for our family.  We’re sure that your support and creativity, along with connection with other couples, will always be treasured, as it is with us.
