Founder

Northern California

Lucinda is an ordained, Northern California Interfaith Minister. She graduated from and was ordained by One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, New York, NY and founded Vows & Kisses, a Wedding Officiant service, in 2009. As an experienced Wedding Officiant she provides excellent support and guidance, ensuring that a couple’s wedding ceremony is meaningful and memorable. Her studies of World Religion and Indigenous Spiritual traditions have deepened her passion for including wedding rituals in non-religious, spiritual, and religious ceremonies. It is her experience that by including a ritual in a wedding ceremony, the couple and their guests experience a deeper connection and understanding of love. (See the Rituals page for more information.)

While serving as a Celebrant, Spiritual Practitioner, and raising her five wonderful sons in Santa Cruz County, she worked as an Executive Assistant. Three years ago Lucinda relocated to California Wine Country and lives in Santa Rosa, CA, with her dear companion, Shadow (a German Shepard). She works part time as an Executive Assistant and loves volunteering at Kaiser Permanente Hospital and Merrill Gardens as a Spiritual Care provider.

Lucinda has supported couples from all over the world who desire a destination wedding in Napa, Sonoma, San Francisco, Bodega Bay, and many other locations. From large formal ceremonies, to simple civil ceremonies, elopements, and vow renewals, Lucinda is happy to support your vision and provide insight and guidance to ensure that your ceremony is special. Having studied conversational Spanish, it brings great joy for her to now offer bilingual ceremonies.

Lucinda believes that celebration and ceremony is the glue keeping heart strings together.

Love Letters From Couples

Lucinda is absolutely amazing! Immediately upon meeting her, we felt Lucinda’s warmth, genuine interest in us, passion for what she does, and calming and assuring nature. We wanted an interfaith officiant who could bring together our unique cultures of Jewish, Chinese, and Mexican in a ceremony that reflected who we were as individuals and who we would become as a married couple in a ceremony with modern and traditional aspects. No easy task!!! But, Lucinda was that officiant! She got to know us as individuals and as a couple, and then worked tirelessly with us to create a perfect, unique, and unforgettable ceremony!! In addition, she was always professional and receptive to our needs. Her ability to navigate and accommodate a difficult wedding coordinator and difficult family dynamics (ie divorced family members) was truly remarkable. Lucinda also made the “logistics” of getting married seamless in terms of taking care of the marriage license and other particulars. We are so VERY, VERY happy and honored that our special day was officiated by Reverend Lucinda. We see her not only as our officiant, but as a friend and part of our family!

We had the most wonderful time at our wedding. Planning with Lucinda was a delight. We were overwhelmed on the outset so she streamlined the whole process by guiding us through our ceremony, customizing it along the way to reflect our personal preferences.

We couldn’t have felt more relaxed by the day of the wedding, we knew we were in good hands. Lucinda’s calm and uplifting demeanor really set the tone of our wedding. We had laughter, tears and tons of smiles all around.

Thank you for bringing our wishes together. It was a day we’ll never forget!!!

Our wedding ceremony was all we had hope it would be and more, Lucinda worked with us to make a ceremony that really resonated with us. It was very different than any other our guest had heard before, they actually participated, and this made it so much more intimate for us.

There was meaning to every part of the ceremony;

The hand blessing with water, represented the union of two hearts, and for us the union of our souls. The exchange of the rings that like a circle have no beginning and no end are symbols of wholeness and unity.

We became in tune with all nature that surrounded us and we were blessed by its infinite energy. The readings and poems felt like send off presents from spiritual guides and laid the path to follow in our married life.

We could not have ask for more!

“Lucinda was amazing!  My husband and I were from out of town and we had to do most our communication via email and phone calls.  Lucinda was prompt in her responses and gave us valuable feedback.  She was really able to capture our personalities in the components of the ceremony – in fact, all of our guests repeatedly told us how well the ceremony represented us!  I would recommend Lucinda and Vows and Kisses to everyone!”

“Myself, being Christian, and my wife, being Jewish, wanted to incorporate both traditions in our ceremony. Lucinda was very helpful in creating a ceremony that was quite beautiful and one which will remain in our hearts for a very long time. Lucinda was very professional, yet it also felt that I was asking a friend to do our ceremony, because she made me feel comfortable.”

“I cannot begin to thank you enough for all that you did for us as a couple– not just on our wedding day, but all of the days, weeks and months ahead of our special day. Our ceremony was a blessed event, and without your words of wisdom, advice, and guidance, we know that it would just not have been the same.”
