A Sand Ceremony is a ritual honoring your autonomy and your relationship and commitment to one another. With the taking of two vases of crystalline colored sand, the bride and groom have their respective colored sand, (for example, one might be yellow the other blue). The bride and groom pour their sand into one larger vase with a base of white sand symbolizing God / Love, the foundation of marriage. The minister speaks of the many metaphors of sand, symbolizing a happy and healthy marriage.
“As we cannot separate the sand back into your individual vases, the sand is merged, as you are now joined together.”
